Death Announcement: Jacqueline M. Phillips-Olson, MSFA Past President 2013-2014

The Maryland Fire Chiefs Association joins with the Maryland State Firemen's Association, The Ferndale Volunteer Fire Company, The Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association, and the Anne Arundel County Fire Department regretfully announce the sudden death of Past President Jacqueline M. Phillips-Olson.

Jackie joined the Ferndale Volunteer Fire Company September 1, 1989 and served many years as a firefighter/EMT. She held the offices of Board of Director and was the company President, and delegate to the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association and Maryland State Firemen's Association.

Jackie served the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association as Assistant Secretary 1997-1998, Secretary 2006, and President 2001-2003. She served the Maryland State Firemen's Association as an Assistant Secretary, Secretary 2009-2010, and President 2013.

Jackie was employed with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department as the Volunteer Coordinator. She was the coordinator for the school supply drive, and Christmas present drive helping those less fortunate throughout the county. Jackie had worked for the Anne Arundel County Food Bank before being hired by the fire department and kept a close affiliation with them each year providing support.

Jackie is survived by her husband Jay Olson, Son Tyler Olson, and granddaughter Albree.
